Habitat Suitability Evaluation of Different Forest Species in Lvliang Mountain by Combining Prior Knowledge and MaxEnt Model

چکیده

The accurate habitat suitability evaluation of forest species is vital for resource management and conservation. Therefore, the previously published thresholds soil organic carbon (SOC) contents six main were used to screen sample points in this study; maximum entropy modeling (MaxEnt) was applied predict potential distribution those Lvliang Mountain, Shanxi Province, China. following results derived: (1) area under curve (AUC) value MaxEnt model 0.905, indicating had high accuracy; (2) environmental factors affecting woodlands mean diurnal temperature range, solar radiation, population density slope; (3) accurately depicted most suitable areas species, namely Populus davidiana Dode (Malpighiales: Salicaceae), Betula platyphylla Sukaczev (Fagales: Betulaceae), Quercus wutaishanica Mayr Fagaceae), Platycladus orientalis (L.) Franco (Pinales: Cupressaceae), Larix gmelinii (Rupr.) Kuzen. Pinaceae) Pinus tabuliformis Carrière Pinaceae). This study has improved representativeness samples based on prior knowledge enhance biological meaning accuracy prediction results. Its findings provide a theoretical basis protection, measures alongside reconstruction low-yield low-efficiency forests.

Habitat suitability modeling of water birds and waders in Hamun wetland by by Maximum Entropy model

Climate change and human activities have increased negative pressure on natural ecosystems. Wetlands are such ecosystems that widely affected by these negative changes. Birds as a part of wildlife in a wetland have damaged by destruction of wetlands, so, a large group of them, are at risk of extinction. Habitat destruction in wetlands in arid and semi-arid areas has more negative effects on the...

Combining Data and Knowledge by MaxEnt-Optimization of Probability Distributions

We present a project for probabilistic reasoning based on the concept of maximum entropy and the induction of probabilistic knowledge from data. The basic knowledge source is a database of 15000 patient records which we use to compute probabilistic rules. These rules are combined with explicit probabilistic rules from medical experts which cover cases not represented in the database. Based on t...

Identifying suitable habitats for brown bear (Ursus arctos) in northern Zagros forests

Wildlife is an important biological indicator of viability of ecosystems, therefore, understanding habitat requirements of species is essential for biodiversity conservation. Determining the suitability of habitats for wildlife is important for effective management and conservation of species. The brown bear (Ursus arctos), as the largest carnivorous mammal in Iran, is distributed in most fores...
